There are websites that the US consulates maintain listing the case numbers with their status. I am currently waiting for my H-1B visa petition decision in hyderabad. Below is the link the website maintained by the US consulate in hydererabad. There are similar websites for other US consulates in India

221g covers a broad sprectum of pending cases, be it name check or any other administrative processing. I personally was requested additional information that I have submitted about 5 weeks ago. My employer received my labor certification packet last week. However, other than a letter which states that my case has been certified, there was no other certificate/form.
The letter states that "Form 9089 ETA has been certified and is enclosed." However, there are NO other enclosures. Is this how it is usually? OR have they just forgotten to include the certificate/form.
Please help.

Please talk to your congressman and/or Senator and update them of your plight in particular and the EB immigration mess in particular. They are very responsive.

Your non-immigrant visa number is the "number in red" (usually only number in red) on visa stamp that is usually in bottom right corner.

From AILA and immigration-law.com:
"AILA has reported that the BECs are still processing April 2001 traditional cases for the traditional case track and it is not expected to move ahead for sometime due to the huge number of 245(i) cases which were filed in April 2001."
I think we will not see a lot for Traditional Cases for a looong time.
My NON-RIR - PD - 04/2002 is also stuck in BEC.
Last i read was that the NON-RIR labors were being processed first compared to the RIR ones. So think twice before u take any decision.

Have you done any homework before asking these questions? Have you called the unemployment office to inquire about her eligibility?
To answer your question,
Yes, it is OK to provide A#. Without the A# they will not be able to check on her immigration status.
You would qualify for Unemployment in PA as long as there is a pending green card application.
Offcourse the applicant should have earned income in the previous year to qualify.
I would highly advise you to contact the unemployement office in your local city and explain your situation and get their advise.

Yes, go ahead and upgrade your pending H1 extension to premium processing. As per the law, USCIS can deny your H1 extension if a 485 is pending at the time a decision is taken on the H1 extension petition...This is a possibility only if they check if a 485 is pending while they adjudicate your extension petition.....

My H1 transfer got denied. My company said they are unlikely to file an MTR. I have a valid EAD and old company H1 (based on 140 approval) valid till Jan 2010.
Can i find other company and file a different H1 transfer based on my old company valid H1?
Please Advice.
Hi Vikram -
Since your H-1B transfer petition is denied, you are not in H1 status anymore. However, I would suggest consider applying for 3 year H1 based on approved I-140 (and PD is not current). It does not matter who applied for that I-140.
There is a chance that USCIS may approve this H1 without I-94. In that case, you need to get new visa stamp and reenter into US to get back into H-1B status.

If I am able to get the PD ported from EB3 to EB2, it will be May 2004 other wise, it will remain May 2004 for EB3. but, at the same time, I am not very sure that PD will be ported successfully, though, in my company, whoever has applied PD porting has got it ported. Is it worth taking the risk ?

As you probably know, if you are refused a visa in Canada, you cannot return to the US until you travel to your home country and obtain your H-1B visa there.
