How about thread "lighten up"??? Although its not relevant to Immigration, it sure is a good thread that helps everyone to lower their blood pressure after reading visa bulletins and other Immigration hassles.
There are not many insignificant threads that encompasses Immig threads, moreover if you notice they show up when not much is happ on a particular day

There are two pointless threads on this site, one is titled "The yanks are coming" and another as "US political system is broken". They both contain long rants of a single user. I seriously doubt if anybody ever reads them, as is evident from the absence of any other user's reply to these threads. Why don't we just remove them, or block them from showing up on the main page. At least it will free up space for more useful threads.

Hi All,
I have one question. I have 140 and 485 concurrently applied. If there's an rfe o 140 will they ask for paystubs ? I have some personal problems recently and I dont have paystubs for about two months.

As per my knowledge 2 things considered for 140

2.Whether the candiate is really qualified enough (like Education and Experiance) for the position they mentioned in labor - a)If labor petition asks for bachelors , the candidate should have bechelors or higher education b) if the labor petition asks for 1 year experiance , the candidate should have 1 year experiance (this exp excludes the exp from sponsoring company I guess)prior to the PD.
Someone please correct me if i am wrong.

After 180 days of filing (around Nov 2004) I left my sponsoring company and joined another company with similar Job responsibility (to avail AC21), But didn't get my H1b transferred to new company. My new job require Master degree and 5 years of experience. I have acquired my master degree before joining my new company. I filed for AOS in Aug 07, my attorney advised me that we could combine the checks payable to USCIS for family members (EG: in place of one check for my 485 and one more for my wife we could combine both the checks for 485 and issue a single check for twice the amount). Based on the above, i issued 1 check for 485, 1 for EAD, 1 for FP and 1 for AP.
Now my checks have been cashed and i am able to see the receipt number on the back of the cashed check. I see two receipt numbers on the back of the checks for EAD and AP however i see only 1 receipt number on the back of the check for 485 (and the same number on the back of the check for FP)
Did any body else also send combined checks? Did you get a single receipt number or multiple numbers?

Well optimism and positive thinking is the only way up in life mate. Anyways we all know wht happened last year wherer so many people got there ead in a year from first stage. There were lucky hope v r too. Thats the optimism.

The Conrad 30 J-1 physician waiver program is good news.
IV Physicans group worked on it led by Core team member- Paskal. Paskal had made several trips to DC to get support for the bill. IV had also sent a letter of support and provided guidance in its advocacy effort to people involved.

DOL claimed that the newspaper ad was sent to them without the date of it. So we sent them back the whole paper-page where the date is usually printed at the very top with my job ad on it.

Now my question is, did they ask you to submit the newspaper ad some point after your manager/lawyer submited your LC application online? It seems like you sent the just ad part and they were not satisfied with it and asked more evidence and you sent the whole page again. Did they deny your LC after you sent the whole page ad or what point did they deny it?

I just got approved for my 3 year extension I am on my 7 th year now.
I just got a request from HR saying that I need to sign a promissory note for the total amount spent by my employer on H1b realted fees.
So in short they are asking me to sing the promissory note to get reimbursement for part of the lawyer fees I had paid for this visa extension.
Here are the important points:
0. Total amount is like $3K.
1. 50% owed after 1 year
2. 0% owed after two years of service.
3. 100% owed when employment is terminated by either party :-0
4. 10% per annum interest after the 31st day of termination.
Is this even legal , or it lies in the gray areas for any body to interpret anything they want.
I dont care about the money, but I think this is borderline harassment.
Note:This is not a desi consulting co.

its kinda interesting why there is no appointment available sooner. I am in florida and i heard frmo my attorney on Thursday.. and called 3 doctors Friday morning.. all three said come down right now. Finally went to one of them the same day in the afternoon.. he did some blood work.. gave me MMR and TD.. and did TB test. I want back today morning and got my all the reports.
As far as I know, we need to get only one blood work done.. doctor can test both HIV and Syph in the same one.
There are places (even though not remote) , you cant get appointments for weeks. There must be different reasons for that. I don't think any one answered the OP question:
